Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. Diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract, which include the organs from mouth into anus, along the alimentary canal, are the focus of this specialty. A physician practicing in this field are called a gastroenterologist.

Dr. Majmundar has been in practice for over 25 years. He attended the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago Medical School and then went on to complete his residency at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Majmundar (or staff) speaks the following foreign languages: Spanish and Gujarati. He frequently performs colonoscopies and endoscopies and his area of expertise includes cancer.
