Dr. Asad RafiqGastroenterology
After earning both a Bachelors of Medicine and a Bachelors of Surgery, as well as a Gold Medal in Surgery, First Class Ob/Gyn, at Deccan College of Medical Science in Hyderabad, India, Dr. Asad Rafiq decided to continue his medical education in Cook County, IL. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in 2005, and became the hospital’s Chief Medical Resident and voluntary Attending Physician in Internal Medicine. A year later he became Attending Physician, and soon after began his Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the same hospital. By 2010, Dr. Rafiq was Consultant Gastroenterologist in the Mercy Health System.
Dr. Asad Rafiq’s research in Gastroenterology and Hepatology has been widely published and presented throughout his medical career. When not furthering his studies, Dr Rafiq enjoys swimming, cricket, reading and traveling.
